Biography

Sarah is a labor and delivery nurse and educator whose work is shaped by years of bedside experience caring for patients and supporting clinical teams through the full spectrum of birth care. Her background includes intrapartum nursing, fetal monitoring, postpartum care, and lactation support, giving her a broad perspective on the continuum of care surrounding childbirth.

Throughout her career, Sarah has been deeply involved in mentoring nurses and supporting professional development at the bedside. She was recognized with the Outstanding Preceptor Award by the Oregon Center for Nursing for her work guiding nurses as they develop clinical judgment and confidence in complex care environments. Known among colleagues as the unit's unofficial “Postpartum Queen,” she has a reputation for both clinical skill and practical wisdom — and, on a lighter note, an award-winning baby swaddle.

In her educational work, Sarah draws directly from real clinical experience to help healthcare professionals strengthen teamwork, communication, and situational awareness in demanding care settings. Her teaching emphasizes thoughtful practice, strong collaboration, and the everyday skills that support both excellent patient care and sustainable clinical work.
